Sisal
Sisal is a plant of the Agave sisalina plant family, native to Africa, Mexico and Brazil. To extract the fibre from the plant, the leaves are crushed and pulp scraped. With a high degree of beating and pulping the fibres are then turned into a lighter material.
Sisal is an excellent floor fibre due to its strength, durability, flexibility and resistance to deterioration.
Sisal is an attractive option for carpets and floor coverings as it does not build up static or trap dust. This makes it a low maintenance carpet – where vacuuming is the only maintenance required and a great choice for allergy prone households.
